Question Completely Personal Threads for registered users

I've searched your forums and elsewhere online and haven't found anything that can help me with this... which isn't that odd considering how unorthadox what I want to do is...

I would like to create a category that acts in the following manor:

All registered users can see the category is present, as well as enter the category and create topics.
Each topic is invisible to ALL OTHER REGISTERED USERS and can only be seen by moderators / admins and the user who started the thread.

If this is possible, I would also like to hide the category statics, such as who was last post and when, number of threads and so on, while keeping these statistics available for the rest of the forums.

I understand how strange this is... please don't ask why anyone would want to do it, because I'm sure that almost no one would other than myself.

For my particular application I would really like to hide the entire thread. Is it possible at all? Am I just dreaming?

Because of the nature of the category... the confidential tags would be very tedious for users and, most importantly, if one of them should forget to use it... well... that would be very bad.

edited to add this: It's CRITICAL that the moderators can reply to the users post and that the reply is visible only by the individual user... I don't think confidential will work in this way... end of edit.


I was thinking about trying to create a potentially unlimited number of registered user levels in joomla and just naming them after each individual user.. and so on and so forth if you can see where I'm going with that. I cringe just thinking about it, but it seems there's no other solution...
