Kunena 7.0.5 & Kunena 6.4.11 – Security Updates Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.5 [K 7.0.5] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.

The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the eleventh version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.

Hey folks,

I was wondering,
Is it possible to use an external avatar with the forum without having people upload it to the site?
I did a search but could not find anything on it, any help would be very welcome

No, this is not permissible. It's possible but the Kunena software does not permit it. I am not aware of too many major forum products that allow this kind of facility. Allowing this facility can compromise the security of your website. I would strongly advise against it.

I see, thank you for the quick reply.
I chose to take a set of custom avatars and make a gallery of those instead.

I believe that Kunena allows you the ability to host your own galleries of customised avatar images for your users to choose from. I haven't experimented with the feature. I think that all that you need to do to create a gallery of custom avatar images for K 1.6 is to create a sub-folder in ../media/kunena/avatars/gallery
