Hi there,

I'm currently running Kunena 1.5.13 on Joomla 1.5.22.
I was activating the Mootools upgrade and as a result, I found some different behaviour on my template (Menue highlighting, Colours, etc.)
Upgrading to Kunena 1.61 worked fine from the install process, no errors reported during the process...
However, when I tried to access my front end again, I only got a blank page. The homepage did not show up, neither any other part of my website.
The backend was working as usual, so fortunately, I could step back to my 1.5.13 version and all my posts were still there.
Not sure what's wrong but still would love to upgrade to Kunena 1.61.
Do you have any idea what could be wrong?
I'm using a template set from yootheme.
my site: www.scifi-world.de (Forum accessible for registered users only)

Any advise would be appreciated.

Greetings,
Thomas

G'day, thorab, and welcome to Kunena.

Can you please provide us with a your K 1.6 configuration report (if you are still running K 1.6 on your site).

It makes it difficult for us to see all of the problems you may be having if you have restricted the access to registered users only. Can you provide us with a test account to use, please? You can submit that information using the Kunena configuration tags, e.g.
Code:
[confidential] Username: Password: [/confidential]
Blank pages usually indicate some software error. Perhaps you were using a module or a plugin designed for an older version of Kunena?

Hi sozzled,

Thank you for your quick reply.
Unfortunately, I have restored the older version and the 1.61 is currently not on my system.
As I said, the website did not appear, the front page was blank - no content, no possibility to log on for users.
The backend worked fine.

Let me try to re-install the 1.6 version again now.
I will setup an account for you to get in from the backend - if that helps.
Let me do that real quick and I'll be back.

Greetings,
Thomas

OK ... but I can guess what's going to happen. You'll upgrade again and your site will be unusable and you will have to downgrade again.

Rather than messing around with your live website, you should have a test site that mirrors everything you have on your live site. With your test site we could help you make the changes that you need to make to get things working again.

Anyway, let's wait and see what the configuration report tells us.

One thing that I noticed from a very quick survey on your site: you are loading 14 Javascript libraries on the home page. That's quite a lot of purpose-build Javascript!

We have seen problems before with JCEmediabox and some YOOthemes "extras" because they involved outmoded and outdated Javascript. As a general guide to problems caused by conflicting Javascript behaviours with K 1.6, please read Mootools 1.2.4

Hi,

I guess your earlier post did point me to the root cause... :)
A new installation was successful! :)
I was looking through the modules first and found an older Kunena "Actual posts" active (from 2009).
After I de-installed the old module and activating the motools upgrade, the forum appears and the website does not show the same issue again.
Is it possible the old module did crash it before?
I would be grateful if you could have a quick look...

PS: My template now reacts a bit different, but I guess this is another issue I need to resolve due to the mootools upgrade...

Thomas
