Question Easily delete multiple posts from one user?

I was wondering: is there any easy way to simply select ALL posts made by a user and delete them?

Or, when I am under a topic and viewing all of its replies, can I just simply delete multiple replies all at once instead of having to constantly press on the "delete" button for each individual reply?

Thanks for your help and what a great component!

Ryan

Yes, there is a one-button (well, maybe half-a-dozen mouse-clicks) "delete all posts from this user" feature. Let me give you an example:

Suppose we want to delete all posts from ComposerRyan. We click the moderate button on any one of that user's posts (I've circled the item, in the screenshot below, to show you what I'm talking about):

Next click the username following the text "Moderate this user" where shown in the following screenshot:

Click the New Ban tab on the user's profile as shown in the next screenshot:

Then check the Delete all posts checkbox and click the New Ban button as shown below:

All done. 5 mouse-clicks!

... um ... are you still here, Ryan?

VERY COOL! :D This is the feature I have been waiting for and thank you for the picture tutorial too. This would be a great sticky as well.

By the way, is there anyway to easily delete all of their posts without completely banning them? I do like how it is easy to delete and ban all at once but in certain cases, it may be nice to not ban at all. Or better yet, how would I easily unban them?

I just knew, as soon as I posted my message, that you were going to ask that question.

Well, let me ask a question in reply: why else would you want to delete everything that a user posted, if it was not for the purposes of banning them? You say it would be nice to not ban someone but delete their posts. There's nothing "nice" about these things at all.

But, to answer (briefly) your other questions: yes you can delete messages (and, in doing so, you ban the user) but then you can unban the user afterwards. I mean, it's pretty easy ... would you like me to show you how with a practical example? (Um ... I actually need to ban someone to show how it's done ... lessee ... who ...?)

My earlier tutorial would be better placed in the Wiki and, so, no sticky I think. Would someone like to take what I've written and turn it into a Wiki article? You could do that, Ryan! :P
