Question Duplicate URL's with K1.6

Hi

I finally managed to get Kunena 1.6 working, after disabling sh404sef all together.

I have noticed duplicate url's - I never had this problem with 1.5

I see that the following url's all point to the same place

forum
forum/
forum/index

I see it is like that here on the Kunena site as well.

Is this not a problem for SEO?

Thanks

Hello,

This is a setting which put you by default on forum/index when you want access to forum. If you set recent discussions the default page when you access to forum you will be redirected ot forum/recent, maybe this doc will help you to understand : docs.kunena.com/index.php/Customised_menus

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

Thanks - I do understand how the menu works. I want the default page to show all of the categories. However I am still having a bad problem with duplicate URLS

I have already lost alot of search rankings.

My categories are now being indexed as:
www.mysmallbusiness.co.za/forum/index/general-business
Instead of:
www.mysmallbusiness.co.za/forum/general-business

Although both urls exist.

Can I 301 redirect /forum/index to /forum - or will that cause problems?

What else can I do to sort this out?

When I was using sh404sef my main forum url was /forum/ with the trailing forward slash. Now that I am using the core sef, the main forum menu item points to /forum

And then the kunena menu item to /forum/index

I'd really like to have only one page showing the categories.

Thanks
