Hi there,

I've noticed that the migration to k1.6 copied all the attachments to a new directory called /media/kunena. The old directory used by fireboard/k1.5 /media/kunena/attachments/legacy still has all the attachments in it.

Is it save to delete this directory (/media/kunena/attachments/legacy) after the upgrade to k1.6?

It's almost 300mb so I can get a lot of space back on my hosting server.

Always keep backup.

No, media/kunena is used only by Kunena 1.6. Files in there come originally from:

/media/kunena/attachments/legacy, which is safe to be deleted.

Upon reading this I deleted the directory /media/kunena/attachments/legacy

However, it now seems that all these images are missing from my forum, I have found a backup with these files. Is this legacy folder actually required??

I was of the understanding that when I upgraded to K1.6 all the images were converted and put in the media/kunena/attachments folder. What is the legacy folder for?

Please help

still wish that i can write my forum signature through a jomsocial plugin and do it from my jomsocial profile :(

Furthermore,
Does Kunena in anyway rename image file when they are uploaded? eg if i upload a photo called boat.jpg will it get renamed to 000000111111.jpg or something?

If so, what does this mean for all the legacy images? is there a way to convert them all over and assign them to the correct user? or is that not possible?

There is some renaming of files (under certain conditions) but I haven't investigated all the whys and wherefores. For me I'm content to know that it "works". I don't believe, though that Kunena has ever performed the kind of filename obfuscation such as you suggested in your last example. That's news to me, mate.
