Disable Kunena alert was created by therang
How can I disable this for now?

Kunena: You have a plugin that uses Mootools 1.1 or custom version of JHTMLBehavior.
Many features, including Quick Reply and BBCode editor may be broken.
Please enable System - Mootools Upgrade plugin.

I have got the forum working by adding the mootools.js to my yootheme template. But the error still shows as it wants me to turn on the mootools plugin upgrade. I don't want to do this as it doesn't play nice with all of my other plugins. So can I turn this error off?

Actually stand down, this only shows for me as the admin. No dramas there.

... so far

Have you checked that things like Quick Reply, the ability to edit user profiles, insert smileys, use the BBcode toolbar - the things that your ordinary users are going to want to do - work for them? You'd better check those things.

If you are relying on Mootools 1.1 you are relying on something that is now considered out-of-date and, as we all know in this rapidly changing world of ours, out-of-date = a problem waiting to happen sooner or later. If you are relying on a Javascript library introduces its own custom JHTML behaviour then you're marching to the beat of a different drum and you're out-of-step with the rest of the world.

K 1.6.0 uses the standard Joomla Javascript Mootools 1.2.4 library with no modifications to it and no customised changed JHTML behaviour. If this isn't what you want then you have other choices you can make (e.g. K 1.5.12) however, the future of Kunena will utilise the facilities employed by Joomla or a future version of Joomla. If other developers' products are not going to keep pace with Joomla that's to their loss. If you choose those other products, that's entirely your choice.
