According to your settings, a user cannot delete their own post if someone has replied to that post.
QED
. So, what's the problem? If the user is an administrator/moderator they can delete their own messages - they can delete any messages. Are you saying that you (as an administrator or moderator) cannot delete messages?
I also see from your settings that you are running J! 1.5 in Legacy mode! You wrote that you need your site to be ready by next Monday - does that mean your site is new? - and you're relying on software that is not longer supported in J! 1.5. Please see important information about Legacy mode . It's in your interests to fix that up now ... before you go live.

As a matter of interest, are you using any third-party SEF products?

No - all I have is the Custom Group URL plugin from socialcode - could that be it?

Your pages load several Javascript libraries on your site and at least two of them conflict with Joomla 1.5's
Mootools 1.2.4
library. Your BBcode toolbar doesn't work, you can't insert smileys, you can't edit your profile and you can't use the Quick Reply function. Your Rockettheme template exhibits the
"occluded Quote button" symptom
. Basically, until you get rid of [strike]the legacy mode software and[/strike] the extensions that rely on Mootools 1.1 libraries, you're not upgrading K 1.6 on your live site any time soon. Sorry.
