Question config report: ...have wrong collation of type...

I backup my remote server with Akeeba and install the backups on my desktop system, which I use for testing purposes. For the most part, it works fine. However, I've noticed quite a few errors in the Kunena configuration report, below. Anyone know what is going on here? Is this a problem with a mySQL setting?

Which collation has the database, from who is this backup? I think not, that is wrong mysql settings.

You can change with this script the collation from the database.

Yes, the script you see in the Wiki will work but you do need to be very careful. The script changes all database tables within a single database, not only the Kunena ones.

A couple of us have been working on a standalone tool that might be handy for other users in who find themselves in the situation where the database tables have different collation methods. As far as Joomla is concerned, I believe it is safer if all the database types use the same collation method. When I've finished the project that I'm working on (and who knows when that will be), I'll be happy to share the tool I've developed with other members of this community.

As I understand, the main issue for those who do not use UTF8 is one where there can be effects involving non Latin characters.
