Question Is it possible to grant privileges to a child board without the category and other child boards?

It's become reasonable for me to suspect that sooner or later one of my clients will ask that I temporarily offer privileges to a particular child board of a category without giving access to the category itself and other child boards. Is this possible?

I guess I could put out a child board in a category for general discussion and use the category as a section of sorts but the above is preferred. I've already tried numerous times and failed. Anyone have other solutions? I've implemented the user groups in joomla.
