I have reCAPTCHA turned on for newbie contributors.

One forum member is complaining that he cannot see the CAPTCHA box and since he's not filling out the form, he can't post. He says he's running Windows XP and AOL -- I don't know if AOL has its own browser these days or not.

This is an elderly fellow and rather than trying to debug the problem with him, I'd just like to set his user to post without CAPTCHA ...

Can someone point me to the place in the database where that flag is set so I can allow him to post without CAPTCHA?

Thanks.

Hello davidcole,

Can you please provide the Mods and Devs your forum's configuration report? Without it they can not see what components you have installed on your site.

Once you do that, a Mod or Dev with a better understanding of what you have to work with may be able to give you a solution.

AOL used to have its own browser. To put it mildly, it did not work very well. ;)

There may be issues with Windows XP - or, more likely, IE7 - and I sympathise with the situation you are in.

There are many ways of assisting the elderly gentleman user. Have you read Using CAPTCHA spam protection in Kunena ? Are you using CAPTCHA for registered users? Is the elderly gentleman a registered user? How many messages does he have to use CAPTCHA before he no longer has to use CAPTCHA? Could you, perhaps, disable CAPTCHA until the user has "qualified" as trustworthy and then enable CAPTCHA again after that?
