Kunena 6.4.13 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 6.4.13 [6.4.13] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x./6.1.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 6.0
Hint: This version is primarily intended to facilitate an upgrade if Joomla was first updated to version 6.1 before Kunena was up to dated.

Hi all,

I migrated a site from the version (Joomla 1.5 to 1.7.3) (Kunena1.5 to 1.7.1) and I find something that was previously used and now not working.

The system does not send me notification emails of new posts to users who have subscribed to the thread in which they participate.

I've done several tests, and I noted that sending emails works because if I activate notifications to the administrator, I get a copy of each message written on the forum.

I tried to change the function of sending email from phpmailer to SMTP but continues to work the same way.

I do not know what things to do to solve this problem since my users are accustomed to receive these notices.

Please someone could help me.?

Thank you very much in advance.

I'm not disputing the issue, fred, but I think we need to separate two matters:

(1) Users who formerly subscribed to topics are not receiving email about updated topics following the transition from K 1.5.x to K 1.7.1; and

(2) Users who now subscribe (i.e. they update their subscription) to topics and/or categories are not receiving email about updated topics.

Can you confirm whether the second scenario I've described applies? Have you looked to see what topics those users (who seem to be affected) are still subscribed?

It's possible that the table xxx_kunena_subscriptions may not have been properly created from xxx_fb_subscriptions during the upgrade? I don't think I've seen this case before.

Hello,

I think the problem is not in either scenario you propose, nobody gets any notice, (old and new subscribers). I have more information that may be can help expose it below.

I found that the problem disappears if empty these tables:

xxx_kunena_messages
xxx_kunena_messages_text

Once emptied the tables, if I create a new post in any category, and answered with another user, correctly reports the existence of this new message via email and as follows new posts in same thread. So the problem goes away.

I hope that this discovery may help find the problem

Thank you very much in advance,

Fred

But if you empty those tables you effectively remove all message content from your forum!

I think we're guess a bit here. It might help to see your Kunena configuration report. But, I think we're both working from the same basis that there's been a corruption (in some way) in going from K 1.5.whatever to K 1.7.1 ... and it may help to go through the process again. I'm not saying you should do that; I'm just saying that this is something you might want to consider.

Hello,

No need to worry about emptying the tables, because the tests I do on a mirror site on a subdomain.

I agree that something has happened in the update from version 1.5.5 to 1.7.1.

Now too late to repeat the upgrade process, in about a week leading online are several hundred messages and new users who are, and I can not go back in the same conditions.

So, I need to fix this on the current site.

I noticed that the table xxx_kunena_messages many records that NOT have the user's email, I will fix this and see if this have something to do with not sending notices to anyone.

Please be sure to think I could do, be very welcome any suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

I guess we're not going to see your configuration report, so I suppose we can only keep guessing as to what's going on with your site. Have a read of this just-solved topic: Not Receiving Subscription Emails .
