Question Read and write access to a forum?
I've posted here: www.kunena.org/forum/168-k-16-and-k-17-s...te-access-to-a-forum But while waiting for reply I saw the disclaimer at the top that it states that "how to" questions are not welcomed in that category, that is why I'm copying my question here and asking the moderators to delete the old thread.
Hey guys!
Is it possible to have a category that is readable to everyone, but only a specific joomla user group can write to it?
The permissions tab has Primary and secondary groups which are able to view this category, but it doesn't say anything about write permission so I'm a little confused???
Any hint will be appreciated.
P.S. I'm sorry if this was answered before, but I couldn't find a thread for this.

Thank you for the link. Yep, this plugin goes in the right direction, but not all the way down the road.
In my case I need to give write permissions to different groups for different forums. The plugin makes the assumption that the same groups will have access to the categories, but this doesn't work for me.
I hate to hack things...
