Hi all,

Long time user of Kunena and love it but a relative noob in terms of extreme techy detail. Recently over the last week we've had performance issues where our server CPU and memory use has spiked dramatically.

According to our host their server is OK and they pointed to Kunena forum causing the issue. They suggested something might be keeping data in cache.

Attached are screen shots of cpanel showing CPU and memory use.

Anyone seen / experienced this? Is there a way to disable cache for forum?

Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Memory usage probably comes mostly from apache processes -- the more users you have, the more memory it takes. Disabling (or having at most 3 seconds) keepalive setting in Apache usually helps to keep memory usage lower.

CPU usage may be caused by anything and you really need to know which processes are taking the time.

Some more info: Our host claims it could be cache building up.

We did a complete upgrade to Joomla 1.7 and latest Kunena. First few days it was fine, then after 2 days back to high memory and CPU use again.

Kunena 1.7 doesn't cache anything, so it's not Kunena cache.

We are now preparing Kunena 2.0 beta release. Kunena 2.0 has been optimized so, that it works with less resources, especially in huge forums.
