Hi,

Hoping someone can help, or that this will kick a discussion off that may be a bug solved.

Brand new install of J v1.6.0. Everything left at defaults. Hosting is running RHEL 5 which means the following major component versions:

MySQL v5.1.43
PHP v5.3.1-1
httpd v2.2.3-19

Browser: Firefox 3.6.13

Kunena v1.6.3 uploaded via extension manager. Reaches page with 'Click to install' button on it. Clicking on that button gives me a completely blank page.

If I turn error reporting up to high, I get the following message:

Notice: Undefined variable: success in /var/http/www.site.com/administrator/components/com_kunena/install/model.php on line 1682 Fatal error: Class 'DOMDocument' not found in /var/http/www.site.com/administrator/components/com_kunena/install/schema.php on line 188

Hope I've not misunderstood. K v1.6.3 is supposed to be J v1.6.0 ready ? If so, does anyone think this looks like a bug, or are we talking about a version compatibility problem.

Thanks in advance for any helpful feedback.

Nick

This is not J1.6 bug -- you do not have all the PHP plugins installed. Please look at PHP manual how to enable it:

www.php.net/manual/en/book.dom.php

Perfect. Thank-you for the assistance.

I hadn't spotted that the php-xml package was missing from this server. Adding that and restarting apache and the install now works perfectly.

Much appreciated !
