Hello,

We have been testing version 1.6 of Kunena at Science File ( www.sciencefile.org ) and have encountered a few problems which I would like to describe to you. This may not be a complete list yet, as testing is ongoing.

1. Polls

A simple poll was created. User Andy voted without problem. User Al then voted, which deleted Andy's vote. You can see this in the attached screenshot Poll.jpg: only one vote has been counted, even though both Andy and Al are listed as having voted.

Andy was then able to use the "Change Your Vote" option without problem, and the poll now shows 2 votes correctly.

2. Al posted a message but after submission the message did not have the "Reply","Quick reply" or "Quote" options. Andy replied yet his message did. See attached file NoReplyorQuote.jpg.

3. The tabs across the top of the forum look fine in Firefox 3.6 and Opera, but in IE8 they go horribly wrong (tested on 2 machines with the same result). Blue Eagle template. See attached file IE8Tabs.jpg.

4. Search facility: the word "hear" was included in a post, but the search facility failed to find it. Tested on 2 machines with the same result. The same word was found when included in another post.

5. Splicing posts: three posts were spliced into a topic, but the topic count for the forum did not update to include them.

That's it for now: I hope this is useful for you.Config details are below.

Kind regards

Andy.

Andy,

First of all thank you very much for the detailed report. I believe the poll and IE8 issues have already been fixed in the RC2 release we are about to publish today or tomorrow.

As for the missing reply and quote button issue: It looks like the message above has been deleted (greyed out) - once deleted you can no longer reply or quote from it.

Hope this helps!

We love stars on the Joomla Extension Directory . :-)

Many thanks for your reply. Glad to hear the poll and IE8 issues are fixed, and I'm sorry if I have reported issues which were already known.

As regards the message without reply/quote buttons, I am sure you are right: I'll take it up with the person doing the testing.I have a feeling he'd been experimenting with splicing posts, so it may have been the result of something he did in that regard.

Kind regards and many thanks for your assistance. Kunena is getting just so much better so thanks to you all for your hard work.

Andy.
