(1) Delete a message (frontend)
(2) Trash Manager (backend)
(3) Select items and press Purge Items button
(4) Purge Items screen (that image that chizhny shows us)
The Delete button, that xillibit refers to, is the delete button on the top right hand corner of the Purge Items screen.
What happens after you press that "Delete" button?
For me everything worked. I was able to permanently delete trashed messages.

This topic is about how to permanently delete messages that have been trashed. This topic is not about the wisdom of deleting messages (messages that may or may not have a "thank you" attached to them). That's another topic. We've already had discussions about whether it's a good thing or not a good thing to delete messages.
If this topic splits into a discussion about the consequences of deleting messages/threads, then let's be very careful where we're heading.
There is no need, in my opinion, to "find a solution" in K 1.6 about the wisdom of deleting messages/threads. Users can do it, that's all there is to be said. If users want to delete messages/threads (and they lose "thank yous" in the process), that's their business because it's their websites ... not ours. We don't permanently delete messages here at Kunena.com.
