Question Image attachements change permission to 600?

Hi been messing around with 1.6 for a few days now and something I noticed is that when I attach an image or a file it will put it in the media folder and change the permissions to 600 so that you cannot view the file. I changed the path in the kunena.defines.php files and that worked but the permissions still change to 600. Is this something that the server could be doing? Non of the other files I upload from joomla do this.

Also on another note the pop ups for the pictures stopped working. I am going through all the plugins and modules now but I recall everything being enabled when I updated from the old version.

Yes, I know all about this one! :laugh: This problem had me baffled and perplexed for a few weeks. During that time I removed and rebuilt my test site at least four times. It would help to know what build you are using. This issue has been resolved in a later build (that probably hasn't made it into the public domain, yet) and so having the information would help other users.

FYI, the problem was addressed in b2695.

FYI, I recorded my observations about some of these differences in K 1.6 in Avatar upload file permissions.

I have been meaning to report back.

The version you said to use works perfectly. All the problems where resolved. I did however, had to replace all custom code i did. Tried to back up the files that I edited and it was a no go :ohmy:

Also the problem I was having on the pop up images was a CSS error on my part.

K 1.6.0 is still under development. The code is changing all the time. I wouldn't be trying to customise too much at this stage because it will all change again tomorrow!
