im still new to kunena and joomla. just curious if it possible to link forum.website.com to a directory within the joomla root so that kunena opens in a brand new window without the joomla template.

Right now my kunena opens in the joomla window so it restricts the size and it just doesnt look nice.

check out the pic.

Subdomain:

The issue with subdomains are that cookies are not passed between your main site and forum -> user gets "logged out" when he makes the switch. This is actually security feature in browsers and cannot easily be worked out..

Otherwise it's possible with some tricks, but needs some custom coding.

Own window:

Having Kunena in own window and without Joomla template is possible by assigning minimal template to all Kunena menu items. Opening it in a new window -- I'm not sure how to do it, but I think it should be possible.
