file upload slow with http and fast with https on LAN was created by lastdown
I tried to upload a file and it took ages to get uploaded on my LAN. I have spend several hours to search for a solution because i thought it was a php.ini problem.
Then i decided to switch to https and try that. An now I could upload with lightning speed.
Would could cause that?

your network traffic is only thing that would affect that and has nothing to do with kunena.

I have terrible problems with XAMPP running on a Windows host on my LAN at home. I don't have the problems if I'm running in a Windows XP server but it's awfully slow if I'm running on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 host. I think my problem has to do with the Windows firewall.
If running HTTPS works for you, that's good. I might give it a try myself ... one day.

Thanks for the replies. Internet connection and network traffic are not relevant in this case (I am the only user and it's on a LAN)
I do indeed use XAMPP, but on a w2003server. I also tried to disable the firewall but that does not change anything.
If I go to \xampp\tmp i can see the file comming in, but so sloooow (approx 10kb per second). I agree it probably has nothing to do with kunena, but it shows up here so i hoped that someone else has the same problem and found a solution.
and the weird thing is that if I logon to the server with remote desktop and start my browser on the server. Uploading goes fast over http to as well the localhost and to the www.myserver.com address.
I would then say it's network related, but than https should be slow as well. Weird huh?
