Question Is it possible to only post new topics, and not allow responses?

I know this is a bizarre questions since Kunena is intended as a forum for discussions, but I am trying to use Kunena as a very simple classifieds/Craigslist app, as the available Joomla classifieds (at least the free ones) don't meet our needs. I would like to make the Category titles the main grouping (like Help Wanted) and then the Forums within that category would allow posting of new 'topics' such as Full Time/Permanent and Temporary forums. People could then post their ads in the forums within the categories. The thing is, I don't want people to be able to reply to these ads in the forums, I would like the replies to be emailed to the person who posted the topic. Any thoughts? I've poked around for a while and don't see a way to configure it this way - any way to turn off replying within the forums and rather replies are emailed to the topic poster?

The short answer is this: no, it's not currently possible to do this. Further, if you could hack the code to achieve the result that you're looking for, you would probably want to allow some discussions. So, the change you seek is non-trivial.

We've had this suggestion made to us before: Kunena is discussion forum software; there are many components developed for classified ads.
