Question Email Notification to Contain Older Posts

Let me try to clarify.

I wish the email notification to contain the complete latest post + the all other posts (full messages) in the same thread, say for the last 7 days.

Is this a possible feature?
If yes, please send me the instructions and we'll take it from there.

The facility doesn't exist. It's possible to develop the facility ... anything is possible. I accept cash. Does $5,000 seem like a reasonable price to pay? Does Christmas 2015 seem like a reasonable time to deliver the solution? I could do it sooner but I was planning to take an overseas trip with the $5,000 you're going to pay me ... :P

I could show you how to make this change, but I sure as heck won't make any guarantees that the solution will work for you.

Please show me how to make this change as you mentioned above.

Thanks

Do you want to spend - I think a better word is "waste" - a lot of time worrying about something that's not even a problem (that is, trying to figure out how to package the last 7 days' postings into an email for people who have subscribed to your board topics) or are you interested in how to get your users more involved with your website?

If you're more interested in fixing the problem of users being put-off visiting your website because of connection speeds, would it not make more sense to look at how your site is designed and organised, streamline it and make it more easily accessible? :woohoo:

That's where I would be putting my energies, not trying to "patch" things with a half-baked idea that will swamp your users with long, tiresome e-mails. In fact, if you could implement such a "solution" your users will probably leave your forum completely.

We can develop a technical solution to your non problem, if you're genuine and if you're prepared to pay for it. Alternatively, you can simplify your website to make it more lightweight and less "busy" for your dial-up users. You can do that yourself and it won't cost a cent. I think you'll get a lot more mileage if you look at your overall web design instead of what you were proposing.

That is my solution. You may not like it but I think that's the best answer that you're going to get. B)

Hello,

This needs to hack the file components\com_kunena\template\default\post.php, look the lines 470 to 489 and 533 to 555.

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.
