I just want to comment on this: Since my working on joomla sites and needing many components, I have many times opted to purchase a support plan at the time of getting some components. Some I opted for the offered support plan after I could not solve the problem on my own. Some of these extensions were commercial, others were free. It would be great if you had a support link that led to a paypal link for support, whether on a single support item, or support for specific time period, like 1 month, 3 month, etc, although kunena still would be free. This would give people who wanted your direct support the option to purchase for priority support, or just take a chance someone will solve for them in the forum.

Some of these places have had paypal payments, then for the person to submit the requested support simply using the joomla contact form, but only after creating a joomla account which identifies the person to you. Others have had formal support desks then to submit support for those who were paid support members. Just suggestions, but I would have gladly selected support, then I could have focused my efforts elsewhere rather than the 60+ hours I sunk into this, not certain if this was one of those forums where I could hope for an answer or completely forget about it! And I have run into too many extension forums like that!

Only two files should be in admin/lib: fx.upgrade.class.php and index.php.

They have no other side effect than taking some extra disk space.

Unfortunately these files got into wrong/duplicated place while improving installer in K1.5.7 (it was existing issue, but only frontend had extra files before this). I will probably fix this in K1.5.9..

Thank you for your feedback. We are indeed looking into establishing such support options in 2010. We first want to get Kunena 2.0 out the door. That is currently our priority.
All of our team members are doing all the work for free as we are sharing our own work with the rest of the world, who wants a well integrated forum into Joomla just like we use on our very own sites. We have encouraged the community to support each other.
Originally we did not plan to make an commercial entity out of this, but we realize that with 300,000 downloads and almost as many installs around the world, this might have to change going forward. That way we could focus paid individuals on premium support that goes beyond a pur community based system.

We love stars on the Joomla Extension Directory . :-)

Matias, I have to let you know that I just did your edits and they worked incredibly! You would have laughed at my amateur edits and what they had accomplished before. It was like using tape, glue and safety pins to try to get the effect, and having some creative results! By creative, I do not mean best.

Any rate, for the benefit of others, I am pasting my full page edit here of my kunena.parser.php file. However, if I did not so perfect, feel free to correct, but it seems I did get your instructions right, because all urls and images are disabled.

Warning: Spoiler!

If is is okay, then others wanting the same can just feel free to copy/paste over their own version 1.5.7 kunena components/lib/kunena.parser.php file to get the same effects.

fxstein, I am glad the plans are very soon to have paid support, because the option for priority "definite" support is necessary for those using kunena for business enterprises online.

I'm glad that it worked.

We are slowly moving ahead, but it takes some time to get better organized. :)
