I need to create subforums from the frontend.
Would it be hard to implement such an option?
Could use some pointers where to start...

Hello,

I don't see a purpose for this, because all the components/modules/plugins can be configured in joomla! backend.

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

The thing is that I need it. I want my users to be able to create subforums but I'm not gonna give them access to the backend.

Basically all that has to be done is to add one more line to the database table. That shouldnt be hard, right?
Adding a button next to "New thread" and when clicked opening a simple form and then adding the data to the database...

BTW, I'm not asking someone to do it for me (would be nice though), I'm asking if I'm on the right track and how to do what I described.

Check how forum is created in the backend. :)

Or try latest groupjive beta release as it does the same.. But then you will need to install CB as well.
