Currently there's no solution for user permissions. We are looking for partial solution for K1.6.

There's a hack for K1.0.9 (at least) to create restricted forums.

So when can I expect this functionality in Kunena 1.5.x or 1.6? I have to publish my site in October and I don't know if I may leave Kunena on my site or I have to use phpBB and RockBox :(

Try this thread

It is same thread as Matias mentioned, but now there is a solution to add restricted/private forums to use with Joomla 1.5. Best is, it is not really a hack and you can assign two usergroups to one user.

Interesting to hear that there's a free plugin/component to do this.

Next version of K1.5 will contain limited support for GroupJive (hopefully for JomSocial, too). It allows you to have forums that are limited to one group in those components. Our release cycle has been around 1-2 months in the past, so I expect to have K1.5.5 released in August.

For K1.6 we have planned to have tight integration for both GroupJive and JomSocial groups. In addition there will be many other ACL related changes, but this depends on how much time we have. Some of the features are available only for J!1.6. It will most likely to be released in October/November when Joomla! 1.6 goes stable/RC.

I use the way with GroupJive. It runs, but not perfect.

One point is: the group forum is not realy private. If you click on "Show latest Posts" you get all posts from all boards. One click again and you are in the "wrong" forum.

Is there any possibility to unable this way?

I'm hoping to get much improved groupjive support into K1.5.5/K1.6.0. It should fix most of the problems.
