k1.5.8 is no longer supported you should upgrade to K1.5.9

and to answer your question: its not possible to do with K1.5x but i read on here that it maybe a feature in k1.6x but devs will confirm that if im right. :)

There is no standard means available in K 1.5.x to achieve this. I am unaware that K 1.6 will change this behaviour, either - I have seen no evidence that this idea has been implemented in any test versions that I have experimented with.

It may be possible to solve this problem by hacking the source code. If the matter is urgent, I would suggest paying someone to make the necessary changes: www.joomlancers.com is a good place to start. If you can afford to wait, there might be a user here who would be interested in taking on your project.

I am thinking in a solution like:
- If user is a moderator or administrator then show the NEW THREAD button.
- If is a ordinary user, only can reply.

Do you know what are the files that show NEW THREAD button?

I'm sorry. @quila wrote a message that was lost while I was merging these two topics. He wrote:

Do you know how can I insert a condition, like this:

If forum-parent-id = x and user is not a moderator then
DO NOT show button "NEW THREAD"
End if

I can pay for this job, ok?

Thank you again
