Dear Tochamax,

Thanks for your contribution!

I FTP the japanese language file throught to /administrator/comonent/com_kunena/language, but the frontend doesn't show japanese language, while other languages work.Could you please tell me how to solve this issue?

Please visit: www.mandarinlearn.com to take a look, and please click the japanese national flag on the top-right of the page.

Thanks and regards,

Fran

fazk> I had the same problem when I downloaded the Japanese language pack for Kunena. I uploaded all the files as described here , but Kunena still didn't show up in Japanese even though the default language for the site front end is Japanese.

A quick work around is to rename the kunena.japanese.php file to kunena.english.php. The forum then displays in Japanese. But of course you lose the English front-end.

Does anyone have a better solution to this problem?

Cheers!

Paul

Hi,

You can edit the ja-JP.xml into /administrator/language/ja-JP and /language/ja-JP

From
Code:
<backwardLang>Japanese</backwardLang>

To
Code:
<backwardLang>japanese</backwardLang>

There may be some mistakes in my message because I am not good at English.
