I dont understand how to translate Kunena in other language.
I create directory com_kunena/language and put there kunena.russian.php.
Then I edit strings like that
DEFINE('_WHO_ONLINE_GUEST', 'Гость');
and save, refresh page, but nothing happens.

And else there is a ISO encode Kunena's language file so that I'm enforced to encode it to UTF-8. But nothing happens at all.

That's the right idea for the Kunena language file contents, but it has to go into administrator/components/com_kunena/language where the original English one is as well.

Kunena's language follows Joomla's main language, so finally you have to make sure everything integrates nicely for your language.

There's ALL dont work at all.

Except by the only one way I could translate. I rebuild original ZIP where replace original kunena.english.php my own original kunena.english.php file with russian translation. Only reinstalling component could help.

That just means that your main language setup in Joomla is not correctly integrated for the Russian language.

I would suggest consulting your local Russian Joomla community for the correct language pack setup rather than hacking and overriding the original English language files.

When i tried to translate it into norwegian (i use Kunena 1.5.1 Beta), I downloaded the file kunena.english.php, translated it into norwegian (the rest of the site is in norwegian by default, with proper joomla translation), I renamed the file to kunena.norwegian.php but then the forum got all messed up, the language in the forum was _COM_A_HIGHLIGHTCODE and not the translated text.

Can anyone help me here?

Do you have both language files -> kunena.english.php and kunena.norwegian.php in the folder administrator/components/com_kunena/language ?

If not, try this, please.
