By default, administrators are global moderators . Therefore, if you allow emails to moderators then administrators get them too. I think I understand what you want, but it doesn't work that way.
Send mails to Moderators: Yes
Send mails to Administrator: No ... is meaningless because admins still get mail
Send mails to Moderators: No
Send mails to Administrator: No ... no-one receives mail (these are the default settings)
Send mails to Moderators: No
Send mails to Administrator: Yes ... only admins receive mail

Send mails to Administrator: No - Admin don´t receive mails (but if Admin is a Category Moderator, receives the mails of this category)
K1.5.11
Send mails to Moderators: Yes - Moderators receives all mails.
Send mails to Administrator: No - Admin receives all mails.

K 1.5.9 had problems with email (just look at the number of support queries we received). Most of these problems were fixed with K 1.5.11.

I have the same problem with 1.5.11. I have by example a category with two boards in it.
Board 1 with Moderator 1 and Board 2 with Moderator 2. If there is a post in Board 1 both Moderators received an email. I checked all settings. I have no Global Moderators definied.
Is this an error in Kunena?
Best wishes

It is normal for K 1.5.11, yes.
K 1.5.9 had problems with email (just look at the number of support queries we received). Most of these problems were fixed with K 1.5.11.
NO, is not a problem. Kunena now works that way.

headbanker: your situation is different, but it sounds almost identical to Different categories, different category moderators: all moderators receive mail .
I don't have an answer on that question.
NO, my situation is the same
Category 1 - Moderador 1
Category 2 - Moderador 2
Category 3 - Moderador 3
-
...
Post in Category 1 - All moderators receives mail, and Admin too.

This discussion topic is about the question asked:
I thought we answered the basic question which was why administrators receive email even though a contrary Kunena configuration setting suggests otherwise.Kunena Configuration:
Send mails to Moderators: Yes
Send mails to Administrator: No
Moderators: They receive all messages posted, whether or not a category moderators
Admin: Receive all messages posted.
There is a completely different question - Different categories, different category moderators: all moderators receive mail . This other question asks "Why do moderators of different categories receive all moderator mail?" If you think they're these two topics are the same, I'm quite happy to merge them together to save time. But ... I think it will only confuse the situation further.
It's your decision. Do you want me to merge these two topics, or not?
