I am using Kunea 1.5.11 with Danish language files. Works fine except that feeds start with the UTF-8 "byte order mark" repeated twice (i.e. bytes ef bb bf). It bothers services like Google Reader and FeedValidator.

If I remove the file kunena.rss.php I end up with BOMs only. Following vague ideas and realizing that _ISO wasn't set, I have tried including DEFINE('_ISO','charset=iso-8859-1') and DEFINE('_ISO','charset=utf-8') both in kunena.rss.php and in the language file kunena.danish.php. No combination made any difference.

Any help is appreciated,
Lars

Starting in 1.5.11, did not use .10, my RSS feeds see to work but do not render in IE or FF.

XML Parsing Error: XML or text declaration not at start of entity
Location: lvehoa.com/home/members-forum/rss.html
Line Number 1, Column 2: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
^

If I do a view source on the page all of the data is indeed there just does not render.
I used outlook to verify that external readers are working and they are.

env:
Joomla 1.5.15
Kuena 1.5.11
php 5.3
mysql 5.1.x
SEF: on (mod_rewrite)
Cache: off

echo "<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding=\"utf-8\"?>\n";

From
kunena.rss.php

and all is good now.

The source code of your RSS feed is correct so i don't understand why with exteranal readers the feed doesn't work.

Sorry, I can't submit a meaningful response to this thread. I keep getting "POST to /forum/post not supported"-errors. Hence this short attempt.

Seems to be a browser-dependent error. I can see the feed www.dsmmr.dk/forum/fb_rss?no_html=1 without any problems in Firefox 3.6.3. I can't see the feed in Internet Explorer 8.

The IE8 error message is
    Invalid at the top level of the document.
    Line: 1 Character: 1

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

Firefox ignores the erroneous first bytes. Google, IE and FeedValidator do not.
