Thank you. I will make now make two other assumptions. You were using K 1.5.8 before, when you had this problem, correct? You have reinstalled K 1.5.8 again, correct? Did reinstalling K 1.5.8 address your problem?

BTW, K 1.5.8 is an old version. The current release is K 1.5.9. Users are strongly encouraged to upgrade to this latest version.

Also, for your information, uninstalling Kunena does not affect existing data. This may be a handy thing to know. Even better, you don't need to uninstall in order to upgrade K 1.5.9! :woohoo:

Also, I'm not really particularly interested in the version of Joomla that you're using. You said before that you are using the latest public release. It should not influence this discussion.

You haven't answered my questions (again) :( . You had K 1.5.8 before, yes?

I assume this means you have reinstalled K 1.5.8, right?

Has this "update" addressed your problem? :S

Sorry. Posting while shoveling.

I meant backup when I said update. Sorry.

No update has occured. I have been on 1.5.8 since day one and this issue occured when we moved servers. I do not know how to update to 1.5.9 but I have someone who will help me with that. Im not even sure I have access? Can I do it right from Kunena or do I need to go server side?

Thank you. Take a few deep breaths - I'll join you - and let's progress this situation calmly and methodically. :)

I suspect, but I have no way of knowing for sure, that, in the move from one domain or one hosting service to another, a backup was taking at the point of departure from one and was restored at the point of arrival. This is conjecture on my part.

I also suspect that the original backup and/or restoration may have been corrupted. Do you know what tool was used to make your site backup? (This is another question that needs answering.)

I have also assumed that you have administrator privileges on your Joomla website. Having administrator privileges means that you have the ability to login to your website backend - see Kunena - A basic Overview for Beginners . I would not be posting this information if I had my suspicions that you were unaware of (or unable to) perform a basic function like installing or upgrading Kunena. Please confirm if you have administrator privileges. As I also assumed, in my initial reply to you (that you did not confirm nor deny): you are experiencing a problem with the Kunena User Administration facility? This requires administrator privileges to do that. If you do not have administrator privileges (which is the only thing you need to install Kunena) how else are you trying to "edit a forum user's account"?

Do you see why I never actually assume that I completely comprehend a user's problem until they confirm my understanding? ASSUME makes and ASS out of U and ME. ;)
