OK, I knew it would happen as soon as I posted.

I just found that within the configuration in AUP, you can select avatar from AUP, Gravatr, Kunena etc.
Kunena shows nothing.
Gravatar shows my K2joom.
AUP shows nothing but selecting it then gives an upload tab. I upload my k2joom and it accepts it.

Okey... I started to write little HOWTO/FAQ about basic AlphaUserPoints + Kunena integration when wants use AlphaUserPoints avatar and profile in Kunena. It will be published in the alphaplug.com site when it's ready... Kunena team can copy it in the docs too if they want to.

Re msgs $38514, 38515, 38519:
Thanks for your input, guys, but can we stay on-topic, please? This subject is about support for a defective feature of the current standard Kunena build. Your information involves how to integrate a 3rd-party extension; there is a separate discussion category for 3rd-party extensions ... please use it. Thank you :)

Hi Sozzled, I appreciate the need to keep things organised, but i do feel the post is still on topic, support for a defective feature.

As a brand new user of Kunena, I have what appears to be the same issue of missing avatars, as the title of the posts states, so this seems like the ideal place to post.

Just because my posts contains information on 3rd party extensions, my query is not with them but with Kunena. To be honest, the supply of information such as related add ons and versions is relevant as they could be part of a known cause or have an effect.

I sure it would make support much harder if we just said it doesn't work, fix it without supplying information.

Thanks Mortti for at least trying to help, but in the wrong room :P

Yes, there appears to be a problem using the built-in avatar images (the ones that come standard with Kunena). There does not seem to be a problem when users want to upload their own. :)

I'm just trying to make sure we stay focused and let's eliminate the interaction of 3rd-party extensions. ;)
