Kunena 7.0.4 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.4 [K 7.0.4] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

Topics that are moved into this category are generally considered to be closed. Users may want to add additional information but these topics should not be resurrected in order to discuss new problems or unrelated matters.

Hello Kunena-Professionals ...

I actually update my (very veeery old) mambo-site doing a new installation of joomla.

Now i use the newest kunena-forum component release and the community-builder component, everything works fine at the moment.

I set up the access to view the cb-user profiles only for registered users, this works too. Also only registered users can write, guests only can read the forum.

But if a guest browses the threads the picture of the user who has postet something is still shown.

How can i implement, that the picture of the cb-profile is only displayed when a registered user browses the forum?

I think like:

Guest only see the name of the username who has postet the article.
Registered users see all information like username, picture, online-status ...

CB handles user profiles in the integration, so you need to restrict access in there. Maybe you should ask support from their forum?

Hi Matias,

i think this is not a problem with CB, because i configured the access to everything of CB to registered users only. But i also think that the configuration to use CB is the Integration-Part of the Kunena-Configuration. There i can configure that Kunena should use the informations stored in CB, but there is no option to configure which kind of user may see as example the picture of the user.

I configured everything in case of privacy only for registered users, only registered users could see the profiles of another user, so if a guest visits my homepage this guest will never see any information from other users ... but only in the Kunena-Forum this guest see the pictures of the registered users and i think this is in case of privacy not correct. But this has nothing to do with CB, because CB only stores the information and Kunena retrieves them from the database.

UPDATE: Sorry, you're right! I played again with some settings in CB an now the Picture is no longer shown in Kunena, thank you very much!
