Kunena 7.0.6 & Kunena 6.4.12 – Security Updates Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.6 [K 7.0.6] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0.

The Kunena team is also pleased to announce the twelfth version of Kunena 6.4, a native Joomla extension for Joomla! 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 6.0.

My Website got hacked was created by igan
hi

recently my website got hacked and the intruder put some sort of shell script which i believe it's from SQL Injection or whatsoever.

Well i'm not saying that it comes from kunena extension. I just wanted to know is there security issue about kunena extension that i might missed?

Hello,

It's the first time that an user report here that his site has been hacked. For limit the security risks you need to use the latest version of components that you use.
There was a security problem in kunena 1.5.3, but this has been fixed in kunena 1.5.4.

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

owh my God..I am using kunena 1.5.3...what should i do, I already set the forum offline.

Should I uninstall the 1.5.3 version and do the clean 1.5.4 install ?

Yes, you can do this if you haven't datas in your database.

I hope you use joomla 1.5.12.

I already had few posted and categories added. How is the upgrade ?is it like upgrading Joomla ?copy paste ?

The available package 1.5.4 version is full install, is there an upgrade package from 1.5.3 to 1.5.4

yes i am using 1.5.12 version
