Question Removing Menu Tabs

Hi,

I've read all the information at:

www.kunena.com/forum/139-solved--support...-the-top-menu-#20922

What I'm trying to do is remove, and re-arrange these tabs.

I'd like to have only 4 menu items, as follows:

Home(categories)
My Replies(my discussions)
My Favorites(which should be a direct link to My Favorites in My Profile > Forum Settings)
Rules(rules)

Thanks for your support.

Hi WorkOutMan

all what you ask you can do, but you must to know, this is a hack and every time you upgrade Kunena you need to do this again.

Did you still want to do this?

Hi @quila,

The menu arrangement is important to me. How long does the hack take? I'm willing to give it a try!

Thanks

Hi again,

here is a hack. First of all BACKUP.

overwrite the file
fb_layout.php in

components/com_kunena/template/default_ex/

kunena.link.class.php in

/components/com_kunena/lib/

kunena.english.php in

/administrator/components/com_kunena/language/

then go to Kunena Configuration and select option like on image

Hi @quila,

I'm sorry, but I'm new to overwriting php files. I'm my understanding:

1. Back up! (Gotcha!)
2. install it via ext > install?
3. this will then give me an Overwrite power which will allow me to Edit the text and arrangment of items?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Hello,

In first unzip the archive that aquila has in this post, then for overwrite the files just copy them in the right directory in following the path gived in the aquilla post and replace the files existing by this in the archive.

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

There is no clear answer on this in the Forum. Can a mod please post the link or thread for simply removing a tab. I do not want several of the tabs.

And yes, I have searched for a hour. Try typing in remove tab and several variations and see what you get.

Thanks....

Please do not use a K 1.5 discussion topic - and a particularly old discussion topic at that - to discuss K 1.6 issues. Please start a new discussion topic, post you K 1.6 configuration report, in the appropriate category. Thank you
