K 1.5.3 - the really *important* fixes was created by sozzled
I've written about this before. As a user of Kunena, I want to know what essential changes I need to make after I've installed the latest version of Kunena. I don't want to know all the extra tricks (for example, how to change the colours of my web-pages, or how to rearrange the menu tabs). I just want to know what things I have to do, after I've installed Kunena, to make sure that I will have a reasonably trouble-free installation.
I do appreciate the efforts made by the moderators but, in this one single matter I don't have the information I need, collected in the one place, that answers this question. So, I hope you'll forgive me, I'm going to make a stab at figuring out what's reported reported in the Solutions and Tutorials - Support Kunena 1.5.3 thread, not just for my benefit but for everyone else. And maybe this could be an example of what should be included in future?
Wrong path for attachments uploaded (images or files) - this is important and affects all installations of Kunena; if you don't make this change, your users won't be able to upload images at all.
ADMINS Only forum - Not a problem at all; unnecessary in terms of K 1.5.3 stability.
Announcements - One confirmed report that there is a problem when entering "long" announcements; how long "long" is, is anyone's guess. This may be a genuine defect.
Avatar and PHP 5.2.0 - Probably unnecessary in the majority of Joomla installations for K 1.5.3 stability.
Login alteration problem - Unnecessary for K 1.5.3 stability.
How to make default link Forum? - Common questions; quite unnecessary if you're concerned about K 1.5.3 stability.
Reverse Post Order Solution - "Bonus" feature but otherwise unnecessary for K 1.5.3 stability.
Reverse Post Order Solution How to add announcements (was: spoiler) in 1.5.3 - How to add announcements in any version of Kunena - common question. Unnecessary if you're concerned what might have changed in K 1.5.3.
URL rewriting for the forum - Not a defect with Kunena as such, but important information for users of sh404SEF that became apparent with K 1.5.3.
How to change the link of the top menu - Unnecessary for K 1.5.3 stability.
Time Offset .5 - Relevant if you live in a timezone that is offset from UTC by non-integer hour amount (e.g. for those who live in South Australia or the Northern Territory); mostly unnecessary for 95% of Kunena installations.
Display/don't disply users in the user list - Unnecessary for K 1.5.3 stability.
By my reckoning, there is only one genuine defect in K 1.5.3 and only one or two matters that might be relevant if you're concerned about K 1.5.3. Is this a complete list of post-installation matters to be attended to, if we're concerned that K 1.5.3 functionality or stability might be affected? :S
If it is a complete list, that's a really remarkable achievement. In that case, K 1.5.3 is an excellently stable product! :woohoo:

- Add this to the list as important, affects all installations of Kunena 1.5.3; if you don't make this change, won't be able to see more than one "page" of a user's posts.
The RSS feed problem mentioned in #21660 is unimportant, affecting only a handful of Community Builder users, those who use the optional "What are you doing" plugin.
