Hi Guys,

When a user posts screen shots in the forum for some reason it breaks the forum when it is viewed in internet explorer

An example can be seen here

www.hugepvpness.com/index.php?option=com...=view&catid=15&id=17

When viewed in Chrome it appears fine, when viewed in Internet explorer the right hand side of the forum is pushed off the edge.

Is there anything I can do to make it display correctly in Internet Explorer?

Thanks for any help you can provide :D

afraid not, that's pretty typical with IE. Upgrading to K1.6 might solve the problem (it did for me)

upgrading to Kunena 1.6 is "supposed" to be painless. I've frequently upgraded from Fireboard to Kunena 1.6, which is a much bigger version jump.

I'll be honest with you. I have not encountered an upgrade of any software that did not involve a certain element of pain or difficulty. I can say that the first time I upgraded to Kunena 1.6 was an absolute nightmare. Fortunately I had the benefit of this wonderful community to help me. I will also say that I have upgraded Kunena about two dozen times since then and I have not encountered (not once) a single problem with any of them.

I am in the process of writing the K 1.6 Upgrade Guide.

The actual upgrade procedure takes about 2 minutes - yes, it's that long! :D - but the preparation work that you should do beforehand could take you a few hours. It is better to be prepared than to upgrade, immediately hit "unexpected" barriers that prevent you from using K 1.6.3, and leave you feeling disappointed, angry and frustrated.

The key to a smooth transition to K 1.6 is good planning and site preparation.

If you were installing K 1.6.3 for the first time on a brand new Joomla-powered website, the chances are that you would have no problems at all. However, when you are upgrading, the situation is very different. Things are different because you already have a site, with all kinds of software installed and, in many cases, this software is old or has not been updated for months (or years) or is simply totally incompatible with the current state-of-the-art as far as Joomla is concerned. Never mind how well K 1.5 might be running on your current site, K 1.6 is a completely different product that relies on the most up-to-date features of Joomla (we recommend J! 1.5.22).

Unfortunately, many people don't realise this until after they have upgraded, when the wheels fall off. We want to help you, and people like you, succeed and have the easiest transition possible to K 1.6. It's not difficult, it requires a bit of time, patience and perseverance. And if you're totally stuck, there are professional services available (for a fee) to overcome the really difficult problems. The main thing is that, in my opinion, all these problems can be solved and 99% of them can be solved without spending a single cent.
