Is there something broken, a defect that you wish to report, a bug, a problem or something that qualifies as a support issue? As you asking for a new feature to be added or you asking for an explanation for something that already works.

Please do not use the Support category for purposes that it was not intended. If I have misunderstood your request can please provide more information about the problem that you are having, together with some helpful information about your current environment: Kunena version number, Kunena template, relevant configuration settings, Joomla version, and any other factors that you think might assist us in remedying the defect. Thank you. ;)

I Found what i need but it needs updating i think because it removes allot of the 1.5.12 features and seems to only hide url links on signitures not on posts :(

From a support point of view, K 1.5 is at end-of-life. There will be no further enhancements to existing functionality for K 1.5. K 1.5 will continue to be supported to attend to major problems, major defects or significant errors that users may discover; support may be given in the form of new minor version releases or by workaround or patches. We appreciate the feedback that users have to offer about K 1.5.x but the development team will not be making changes to K 1.5 because something seems to be "a good idea".

If you would like to contribute to improving Kunena, we invite you to move ahead and join with the rest of the community in working with us on K 1.6 and future versions. We would certainly appreciate your support in this regard. Thank you. :)

Well it depends if allot of the Kunena 1.5 features (hacks / modifications) can be ported forward into Kunena 1.6 ?

As a general rule, code modifications made to K 1.5 cannot be ported forward to K 1.6. Code modifications made to K 1.6 cannot be ported back to K 1.5 ... as a general rule.

I will repeat what I am sure I have written on numerous occasions in the past. K 1.5 and K 1.6 are structurally, programmatically and internally different from one another. They share a similar looking user interface; they share a common provenance; they both run on Joomla ... but they are different. They use different database tables for one thing.

Many of the features remain the same but the code that delivers those features has been radically altered in many areas.

I have also written on numerous occasions about my belief in disposable technology. For me it is far more important to have a product deliver the goods than to spend a disproportionate amount of time tinkering with the delivery mechanism. The time spent tinkering is time that could have been spent using the product; the time spent modifying or tailoring the product is time that could have been spent seeing what new technology was waiting, just around the corner, that was better, faster, easier to use, more reliable. There exists what is known as the Law of Diminishing Returns. Basically it states that you reach a point after which you gain no added benefit by putting more resources into trying to improve something. What is the point of investing in changing K 1.5 if the changes cannot be carried across to K 1.6 or if the changes have to be done in an entirely different way?

From a support point of view, no hacks or modifications are supported. From a support point of view most K 1.5 features have been ported to K 1.6; some have not; some have been implemented differently.
