Cannot add Menu Item was created by Cooch
Hello

When I attempt to add Kunena to my menu, I get an unformatted page with no buttons. Any idea how to fix this?

Thank you
Cooch

G'day, Cooch, and welcome to Kunena. I'm sorry, I don't understand the issue or what you were using in the screenshot you showed. The image looks something like the Joomla Menu Manager but I've not seen this page before. What version of Joomla are you using?

What version of Kunena are we discussing? I suggest you read K 1.5.x Support: Please read this first.

Hello, and thank you for the friendly reply.

Sorry if I wasn't clear, yes, this is the menu manager. I can create menu items for all other components, but for Kunena it seems to be unformatted and no buttons to create the menu item.

I have installed Kunena before on this server, but did not have this issue. I have not modified anything in Kunena.

Any assistance would be appreciated.
Cooch

I am using:
Joomla - 1.5.20
Kunena 1.5.12
PHP - 5.2.13
MySQL - 5.0.91
Apache - 2.0

Thank you for you reply. I'm sorry it's taken this long to have responded to your question.

I have to admit that I'm stumped on this one. The general installation procedure is quite straightforward (and I must have used it a hundred times or more) and requires only a little knowledge of Joomla in order to get things working. However, having said that, I don't know what is affecting your site in the way you've described things.

As I mentioned earlier, I've not seen this "Kunena Forum: Entry Page" screen before. I don't know how to reproduce the situation on any of my test sites. I'm not saying that your problem isn't a genuine one, I just don't know the cause.

Do we suspect, perhaps, a corrupted Kunena installation kit, maybe?

Let's summarise what you've done:

1) You've installed Kunena
2) You're using Joomla Menu Manager to assign a menu item to your Kunena forum
3) You attempt to Add a new menu item, Select Menu Item Type of Kunena Forum and you get that "Kunena Forum: Entry Page" screen.

Maybe you have something left over from a previous K 1.6 installation? A few thought to consider.
