Hi!

I am using Kunena for a very specific purpose and I need to fulfill these requirements:

1. Need to use closed forums, each of one for one employee of the company
2. Only the site admin and the employee should access it

The problem is that I am having trouble giving the right permissions/user levels.
Tried to give admin level to all employees (and moderator status on their own forum) but that way all of them could access all of the forums.

Could you try to help me please?

I'm in b bit of hurry, as my deadline is approaching to have this issue solved!

Thanks

This is not a support question please read:

We get a lot of requests for "support" but only one in twenty actually deals with genuine support questions. We remind users that, before they rush into asking for help, they spend a few moments reading this topic. It's important!

The Support category is used to address problems with the unmodified core Kunena software - not to ask how to change it or to discuss problems people might encounter with third-party developed features. If you have a support question, please familiarise yourselves with the following key articles:

•Technical Requirements
•There is only one endorsed and supported Kunena template ... default_ex
•Securing Kunena

This category is also for reporting defects that you have identified with the latest version of Kunena. It is not for asking questions about how to use the software normally or how to use Joomla normally. We give these support topics higher priority than other topics, particularly around the time when there is a new release of Kunena in order to ensure that defects are not passed on to other users. The developers and moderator team will not address questions about superseded versions of Kunena.

If you are using an old, outdated version of Kunena, you have two choices:

1.Stay with the version that you have and attempt to work through the problem yourself;

or

2.Upgrade to the latest version of Kunena before you ask for our help.
Please familiarise yourselves with the following key articles:

•Kunena - A basic Overview for Beginners
•Sections, Categories, sub-Categories (Part 1)
•Sections, Categories, sub-Categories (Part 2) - advanced setup for special groups
•Search engine optimization (SEO)

These forums do not support Fireboard or any versions of Kunena developed for Joomla 1.0.x.

Thank you.

As regards to your exact question:

please please please use the search before asking questions, this subject has been covered many times.

IN SHORT:

J1.5x and K1.5x do not yet support ACLs ( access control lists ) and that is what you are going to need for what you are trying to do but in J1.6 and K2.0 (long way off) ACLs will be added so that restrictions can be better added to who can see and access each catagory of the forum, this includes give certain users access to certain sub-Categories.
