Question Can't Edit Thread Subject

Hello,

When I try to edit the thread subject I can delete text, but not add text. In the content area I have no issues just the Subject Area. Currently using 1.5.9, but planning to upgrade soon.

What kunena template do you using ?
Do you have a link to your site with a test account ?

Yes, this sounds to me like someone has a defective or non-standard Kunena template instead of the original, out-of-the-box default_ex Kunena template.

Should I upload current latest default template and just edit colors in CSS? Is it that simple? I'm having a problem with displaying smilies too which could also be related.

I'd like to make a very brief comment, not just for your benefit but for any other new user who's tempted to follow in your footsteps. As I wrote (only yesterday, in fact) in another discussion:

99% of the time, Kunena works, after you've installed it successfully, without making a single change to it!

After people start fiddling around, that's when the problems really begin! :laugh:

So, if you've never used Kunena before, if you're building your first website in Joomla, here's what you should do:
Yes, we've all browsed the Joomla Extensions Directory and the hundreds of Joomla template websites, looking for that extra "something" that will give our sites a competitive edge and I think that we often leap into the great unknown before we look. I'm as guilty of that as anyone! :lol:

And so, bigmike0601, here is my advice to you: please read K 1.5.x Support: Please read this first. It contains lots of tips but the two most important ones are

1. Install the latest version of Kunena; and
2. If you have a problem with Kunena, make sure that you (and we) can reproduce the problem with the unmodified, standard default_ex template. If you can't reproduce the problem with the unmodified, standard default_ex template you should contact the developer of the template that you are using and ask them what to do.

Thanks, I will upgrade to the latest default template and go from there. I appreciate everyones help on this site and with this project. I never would have gone with kunena had it there not been such a great group supporting its growth. You should all be proud.
