Question Changing user display

Hello,

I would like to change my user display into something different. I have no idea where to start. I did a search but no luck really.

When you make a post, on the right side your avatar is displayed, along with the number of posts, if you are online or offline, ...

I got that user information displayed on the leftside. Now I want to set the name to the left, the avatar to the left, I would like to add : location. Like to replace the title like moderator with that of an image. Is this all possible?

This is where I would start. I would start by getting a pencil and paper and I would draw a sketch of what I would like my "different" user display to look like. Then, if you can't do this yourself, I would pay someone to build this for me.

We might be able to help if your changes aren't too big. Without a clear plan as to what you want neither you nor we are any closer to a solution.

Well I think I could do it myself but I need to know how those classes are called. See image for what I had in mind.

Thank you for your very clear explanation of what you want. I'm sure that someone will be able to help you. If I had a spare day or two I would do this for you myself, however my home renovation activities take priority ... :laugh:

The user ranks (in your image you showed an image of blue blocks as well as text above it) are the easiest to do: combine the text and "blocks" into one rank image and use the existing Kunena Ranks Management tool to assign these new ranks to your forum. Then it's just a case of removing the rank title from the display.

Most of the major changes involve modifications to the file ../components/com_kunena/template/<your-template-name>/message.php:

1. Remove the display of the rank label
2. Add display of "Location"
3. Add display of "Joined Since"

The other changes involve your template CSS to get rid of the dark-grey bordered background and to unbold the "number of messages" information. If you use Firebug for Firefox you can easily identify what are the CSS classes involved.
