Emoticon problem was created by ringlas
Hello to you all, I am new to this community and new to kunena and I want to ask about a solution for a small problem of mine.

Here is a brief introduction -

I have a file Qs.gif

I want to make this file a smiley and I want if anywhere in the text of the thread there is Qs to be replaced with the smiley instead.

However, if the string Qs is not surrounded by :: (i.e. :Qs:) or any kind of special symbol or a letter it doesn't work.

I want Qs to be replaced no matter where, in sentence, in word, anywhere and that's why I need the Code of the smiley to be Qs only.

Instead of the image it gives me this - .gif" alt="" style="vertical-align: middle;border:0px;" />

I am using kunena 1.5.9 with dragon black for 153ver template.

Help of any kind would be highly appreciated and I would be very thankful and happy! ^^

Hello,

You are using a template based on K1.5.3 is like if you are using K1.5.3, so please use a template designed for K1.5.9 or the default_ex template.

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

G'day, ringlas. I realise that you are new to the community and so I will try to make this simple for you to understand.

You have asked a question in the support category. Please understand this:
    The
Support category, where you posted your question, is intended to be used to address problems with the unmodified core Kunena software - not to ask how to change it or to discuss problems you are encountering with third-party developed features - or to report defects that you are encountering - not to ask questions about how to use the software normally. We give these support topics higher priority than other topics, particularly around the time when there is a new release of Kunena (as there was only a couple of days ago), in order to ensure that defects are not passed on to other users. I have moved your topic to a more appropriate section.Your website is using a third-party template for Kunena (dragon black for 153ve) that I've never heard of. Obviously xillibit is familiar with this template: if it was designed for K 1.5.3 then it will not work with K 1.5.9.

Although we encourage and appreciate the many different user-contributed template designs that have been made for Kunena, there is only one endorsed and supported Kunena template ... default_ex . Therefore, if you are reporting defective behaviour with your Kunena forum, you will need to change your template to default_ex and verify that the defective behaviour continues. If there is no improvement then it might help for us to be able to look at your website to see what is occurring. We will not be able to help if you continue to use an unsupported template.

Generally-speaking, text replacement with emoticons (smileys) normally relies on the smiley "code" being surrounded by colons. If non "colon-like" smileys are defined then it may be fortunate if they are automatically replaced but I don't suppose that any guarantees can be made about this feature of Kunena.
