So here I am. I've installed the Kunene at my testsite and it seems to work fine and if feels like my kind of forum.
But now I wonder. Do I really need the CB make a functional site using Kunena and hopefully some kind private message system? I'm not hosting a complicated site cause my users aren't that technically skilled. I just like to run the forum, let people to be able to connect and maybe run some kind of classified ad system.
Next question how hard is it to migrate a SMS-forum into Kunena?
ps the googleads in the bottom of my thread is that something that is integrated in Kunena?

I'm always a bit careful when I see a discussion subject that's headed "tons of questions" because it usually means that the questions never cease (or that someone else will jump in later, hijack the thread later and ask their own dozen questions).
Do I need Community Builder software? In terms of whether you need CB in order to use Kunena the answer is, simply, no. In terms of whether you need CB to allow people to "connect" or run classified ads, the answer is again no.
Is it hard to migrate a SMS-forum into Kunena? I don't know. What is a SMS-forum. Do you, perhaps, mean SMF? Please explain what you mean.
Are GoogleAds integrated into Kunena? Not really. I mean, Kunena makes no special accommodation for GoogleAds than any other Joomla extension. The ads that you see, interspersed between the messages, are there because there are module "placeholders" provided by the template. You can read about module positions in the Kunena template in the companion Wiki site: docs.kunena.com/index.php/Module_Positions
Private Message System: Although you did not ask, specifically, about PMS software, you might find this discussion helpful: Private Message in Kunena

I know it was kind of a stupud headline and I'd probarbly banned people myself at my forum for doing such a thing LOL.
But I do appologize for my bad spelling this evening, of course I meant SMF as in Simple Machines  Would that be hard to migrate? I ran across a forgotten backup of my old forum (before the long story) earlier today and started to wonder if that would be possible to migrate in to Joomla and i.e Kunena.
The PMS-system for sure doesn't work with me behind the wheel. I've tried it so many times now to get uddeIM to work with my site but no such luck so far.
Thank's again for the help so far

Is it hard to migrate a SMF forum into Kunena? Well, this falls into the "how long is a piece of string" kind of question. The difficulty that one person may experience may be a "piece of cake" so someone with more technical know-how. However, there are many topics that we've had about migrating from SMF to Kunena and you should judge the difficulty for yourself.
See, for example:
- Moving from SMF to Kunena.. Need some advice
- IPB, Punbb, Phpbb3, SMF2 to Kunena solved
- SMF 1.1.10 to Joomla 1.5.15 and Kunena 1.5.6 ... although, obviously, you don't install K 1.5.6 (you install K 1.5.11 instead) but the idea is the same.
- SMF to Kunena
Personally I don't waste my time with forum migrations - this is just my opinion. I prefer to leave alone old, worn-out discussions that have little relevant to today's events. If these things "enrich" (in some way) the cultural heritage of your website, then consign them to the archives; lock them down and make them read-only or build a shrine to them on a separate website.
Private Message System: For my "money" I use uddeIM. It's free and it works with Kunena. If you have a specific problem integrating uddeIM into Kunena, please start a new discussion topic.
