Hello,

The Kunena requirements are here : docs.kunena.com/index.php/Technical_Requirements

What kunena version do you trying to install ?

For MySQL version previous to 4.1.20, Kunena haven't tested on this.

What the error do you have ?

Im not sure Mysql 5 is required for 1.5.9, but it will be for 2.0 and future releases.
Also, Mysql 4.1 is rather old. Many online opensource applications runs on Mysql 5 these days.

So unfortunately it seems like you might need to find a newer hosting facility... :)

Edit, xillibit, damn, you beat me to it :silly:

*sigh* yeah it seems I will need to find a host. I am currently using resellerguru.com and have been using them for a few years now - very happy except for the odd things like this.

Can anyone recommend a good windows host?

Why a windows host ? Why you do you don't want a linux host, i think this is better ?

Well I know windows best, but I am too afraid of a linux host either.

I just need someone very well priced and offers superb support. As I said, I have no reason to move to another host other than for this project...

So if you can refer an AWESOME linux host then please do so.

The ideal would be for my existing host to get their act together and upgrade! *sigh*

MB_ZA: Are you trying to host this site on your own equipment? It's possible to host a Joomla website on an IIS host but it's not recommended. The Joomla support forum can give you tips.

Hi,

No, I am using another host. I actually resell web hosting, but I also have projects that I set up for clients etc.

Joomla works fine on Windows. The only issue I have ever had is now when trying to install a forum component.
