Hello,

I've been searching for days and have not found a complete solution. I have a site, syops.com using Fireboard and have created a new template and a fresh install. Now I need to install Kunena on new site and export all users, forums, topics, threads, posts, etc. to new install from old site.

I've installed on new domain so my users can still intact with site. Once new site is up and completed with new forums, users, etc. will backup and install to main site.

I have not installed the new Kunena forum on new site yet not know the procedure on how to complete the above task.

User count is over 2000 and forums - A lot of data.

Someone please PM or email with any suggestions or if you could offer help in completing this task.

Thank you,
Eric

Hello,

There are docs for this : docs.kunena.com/index.php/Migration_from_FireBoard and docs.kunena.com/index.php/Installation_Instructions

The detailled procedure is :

Remenber that templates for fireboard doesn't work on kunena 1.5.8, use default_ex template or others templates avaiable here on kunena.com

1°) Backup your database
2°) Export your database tables begining by jos_fb_* with phpmyadmin from your old site
3°) Import these tables with phpmyadmin on your new site
4°) Use the com_fbconverter if you are using fireboard versions before 1.0.5 : joomlacode.org/gf/download/frsrelease/11..._b162_2008-09-20.zip
5°) Just intall kunena 1.5.8, the upgrade procedure will be done automaticly

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

Thank you for the reply.

Ok, sounds easy enough. This is what I needed a step by step for a beginner. :-)

Ok, so one step to make sure I understand...

On step 4, my current installed version is: Installed version: 1.0.5RC2 | 2008-10-06. At what point do I install or use this converter? Do I install on old site?

On step 5, I install the "exported" tables from old site to new site then do the new Kunena install and the app will know everything from that point, correct?

Once again, THANK YOU!
