Install through browser? was created by Eliyahna
In php.ini, technical requirements for installation is php max_execution_time >= 120
I have hosting from HostGator.com (very very popular web host) and they only allow php max_execution_time >= 30. Because of this I cannot install successfully.
Is there any other way to install?
Perhaps files to upload then an install file to run through the browser?

Hi Eliyahna, welcome to forum
the good alternative is Installation from Directory.
Unpack the Kunena install package to *JOOMLA ROOT* /tmp directory on your server and click "Install" for this option.
Regards
P.S. Please change the topic title in something more descriptive for this problem. Thank you.

Ok I've never done this before so let me know if I'm doing something wrong? I went to:
www.mydomain.com/tmp/com_kunena/install/kunena.install.php
and it said: Restricted access

No, just extract the files into the tmp-folder, then go to your joomla-backend and edit the install-path at install/uninstall (where you usually select the zip-files to upload) and press install.

Ok I unpacked the zip into /tmp/com_kunena and made the install from directory path to /home/torahwom/public_html/tmp/com_kunena. I got this error:
