Kunena 7.0.4 Released

The Kunena team has announce the arrival of Kunena 7.0.4 [K 7.0.4] in stable which is now available for download as a native Joomla extension for J! 5.4.x/6.0.x. This version addresses most of the issues that were discovered in K 6.2 / K 6.3 / K 6.4 and issues discovered during the last development stages of K 7.0

Well this is the moment I've been waiting for. A native joomla1.5 version of kunena. Thank you developers.

This is also my moment to migrate from joomla 1.0.15 / fireboard 1.0.4 to joomla 1.5.12 / kunena 1.5.3. I studied the documentation on upgrading/installing/migrating and some forum issues but I feel a bit lost in finding the best way to do this. Any help would be much appreciated.

My plan:

1) upgrade fireboard 1.04 to 1.05RC2
2) upgrade joomla 1.0.15 to 1.5.12
3) upgrade fireboard 1.05RC2 to kunena 1.5.3

Questions
1) Is this first step really nessecary?
2) Can step 3 be done directly or should I first upgrade 1.05RC2 to kunena 1.0.x?

Any other remarks on how to do this as smooth as possible are very welcome.

Thanks.

First observations: you can't upgrade from J! 1.0.15 to J! 1.5.12; you can "migrate". Please visit forums.joomla.org for further information.

I would do the Joomla thing first; it's the most difficult thing to do but it's also necessary in order for you to run K 1.5.3 (which won't run on J! 1.0.15 anyway).

There's no need to upgrade to Fireboard 1.0.5 RC2 before you upgrade to Kunena 1.5.3. You can omit that step.

Most importantly, backup your site! I've spent the past two days unsuccessfully trying to get my websites upgraded from older J! 1.5.x to J! 1.5.12 and I've not too happy about this latest and "greatest" version. If you have an installation kit for J! 1.5.11 I would suggest you use that instead - good luck finding one, though! :)

Hi...

I also did what was described above to the letter.

a) Get migration file from my joomla 1.0.15 (with fireboard plugins)
b) install new joomla 1.5.11 using the migration file. worked like a charm
c) installed com_kunena_v1.5.3_stable_b1688_2009-06-15 and it gave no errors and a lot of SQL queries to make it compatible
d) tried to access kunena via admin panel, and it gave me the following error:
Code:
Error * Your Kunena installation is incomplete! Notice * Because of the above errors your Forum is now Offline and Forum Administration has been disabled. Message * Possible reasons for this error: * 1) Kunena installation process has failed or timed out (try to install it again) * 2) You have removed some of the Kunena tables from your database * 3) Your database has been corrupted * Our support forum can be found from: www.kunena.com

Any ideas on how to solve this?

Please look at your database and list all your jos_fb tables to me. Some table must be missing.

Here is the complete list:

fb_announcement
fb_attachments
fb_categories
fb_favorites
fb_groups
fb_messages
fb_messages_text
fb_moderation
fb_ranks
fb_sessions
fb_smileys
fb_subscriptions
fb_users
fb_version
fb_whoisonline

I'm doing the exact same thing:
joomla 1.0.15 / fireboard 1.0.4 to joomla 1.5.12 / kunena 1.5.3

I installed 1.5.12 and Kunena 1.5.3. Can I copy-paste the tables from the old database to the new? or is the conversion with the migration plugin really necessary.

I've just used the migration plugin. It exports 11 tables. The fresh install of Kunena has 15 table.
these 11 table:
jos_fb_categories
jos_fb_groups
jos_fb_messages
jos_fb_messages_text
jos_fb_moderation
jos_fb_ranks
jos_fb_sessions
jos_fb_smileys
jos_fb_subscriptions
jos_fb_users
jos_fb_whoisonline

Do I then just add the 4 empty tables from a fresh install?
