I have Kunena 1.0.9 running on Joomla 1.5.x

I want to know if it is possible to move all forum to a new Joomla 1.5.22 installation.

How to proceed?

Must I first upgrade Kunena to 1.5? Is there any way to backup Kunena forum contents?

Any way to restore it on a new Kunena 1.6 installation running over Joomla 1.5.22 ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello,

Copy all tables nammed jos_fb_* , jos_core_* and jos_users in your new joomla installation and then install k1.5.14

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

Perhaps a better suggestion might be to upgrade to K 1.6.3? B) Please see K 1.6 Upgrade Guide . The upgrade process will convert your K 1.0.9 forum. You may have to do make some other preparations, first, to ensure everything else on your site is fully compatible with J! 1.5.22 and Kunena. I hope this helps.

Thanks both of you.

What I need is to move this old forum threads to a new Joomla installation.

Kunena wikki info is for upgrading over the same Joomla installation.

This what I have now:
- Joomla 1.5.10
- Kunena 1.0.9

This is what I want then:
- A new Joomla 1.5.22 installled with RocketTheme's RocketLaucher
- Kunena 1.6.3 with previous forums threads.

Is there any tool to backup Kunena forums contents and restore it to a new Joomla installation?

How to proceed if I need to do it manually?

It seems to that I first need to upgrade Kunena in the old Joomla installlation and then backing it up (in a way I don't know) and then restore it over the new Joomla install, but I'm not sure...

Thanks in advance for any help!

phpMyAdmin works; that's what I would use.

I would like to know how to migrate as well. I have the latest version of Kunena on two different sites. I would like to migrate the old forum to the new one. If there is no *script* that does this has anyone created a step-by-step guide for this? I would think that if the guide simply explained how to migrate from a version of Kunena to the SAME version of Kunena it could be done in a way to fit everyone's needs.

What do you want to do?

What version of Kunena are you using now?

What version of Joomla are you using now?

I think you will find the answers you are looking for in K 1.6 Upgrade Guide .

I will look at the guide, but I'm not upgrading, just migrating.

To answer your questions:

I am running J1.5.23 on both sites and Kunena v1.6.5.

Why are you posting in this topic? You are not using Kunena 1.5.

You are not using K 1.0.9 either.

When you say you are "migrating" what do you mean? Do you mean you are copying your site from one webhost to another? Migrating from what to what?

I think your questions need a new discussion topic instead of hijacking this one. Please start a new discussion topic (use the category K 1.6 Common Questions ) and please explain what, exactly, it is that you want to achieve. Thank you.
