Question Kunena in Italian / other languages

I haven't understaood the process of putting Kunena into other languages- in my case, Italian.

I followed the links on this site and downloaded a /language directory which contains /kunena.italian.php , which I then put by ftp in the place indicated (mysite/components/com/kunena/language

I now find that 1) individual users can change their profile prefernces to 'Italian' - but this choice has no effect whatsoever

2) default site language remains English.

I want default Italian. What have I done wrong?

TIA

Hello,

In kunena 1.5, you need to set Italian in joomla! language manager else the kunena language will remain in english.

I don't provide support by PM, because this can be useful for someone else.

Thanks for the reply- I am using 1.5.17 as you saw. Italian is already set as the default language in joomla, but kunena is still only in English.

Hi, wrong place for language file in Kunena 1.5
